What a busy week we have had! We welcomed a student teacher into our classroom. Ms. Tyler is from Murdoch University, Australia, and she has quickly settled into her role. She has been working with small groups of students, supporting their learning at different centres, as well as trying her hand at whole class Read-Alouds. The students enjoyed her story "Possum Magic" and it helped to set the tone for UN Food Festival, as the book talks about several quintessential Aussie foodstuffs. At Discovery Time she put out an art activity based on the story. We look forward to having her working with us for one more week.

We also welcomed Celena Larkey, a literacy expert from Teachers College, Columbia University, who conducted two storytelling sessions with the class. The students really enjoyed her engaging lessons, and it was helpful PD for us K1 teachers.
A very big "Thank You!" to all the parents who came to help us at the Food Festival. The students had a fantastic experience!
